Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum

Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum is in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do Province, where the royal kilns produced ceramics for the royal household for five hundred years, throughout the Joseon period. The mission of the museum is collection, conservation, research, and exhibition of Korean celadon and white porcelain produced at kilns scattered throughout Gyeonggi-do Province and the royal kilns in Gwangju during ancient times, as well as modern and contemporary ceramics.

In order to help the general public better understand the history and tradition of Korean ceramics, the museum presents exhibitions on ceramic artifacts, remains concerning ceramics, and artworks produced by artisans with outstanding craft skills and artistic sense from ancient times, when ceramics were first made in Korea, to modern times. The museum is a treasure house of regional cultural heritage and offers various programs for the public.
