Toyaseum

While relocating its offices from the approximately 2150㎡ building in the Ceramic Research Support Center to a rented office space of approximately 460㎡ in November 2009, the Foundation changed the designation of the Center to "Toyaseum" and decided to utilize it as a space providing convenience facilities for visitors.

Toyaseum derives its name from a combination of the words "Toya," which is the official mascot of the Foundation, and "museum."

Toyaseum – a storage-like museum showcasing works that had not been able to be displayed for public view due to limitations in exhibition space – has achieved a budget reduction of more than 5 billion won with its project of better utilizing facility space through remodeling. Toyaseum is a new type of world ceramics museum that does away with the existing concept of a museum storage focusing solely on the safekeeping of works, and provides functions of exhibition and rest areas, in addition to storage.

Toyaseum is comprised of four exhibition galleries permanently showcasing approximately 1,300 works of the Foundation collection, together with spaces for education, academic, and relaxation purposes including a library specializing in ceramic works, a conference room, and rest zones.
