Greetings

On this warm day of spring, the exciting 8th GICBiennale is coming to you.

Joined by artists from 74 countries the world over, GICBiennale 2015 is the world’s largest biennale specialized in ceramics. With a view to further increasing participation of the general public, while aspiring to achieve further qualitative and quantitative improvement as previous biennales did, GICBiennale this year will look at today's ceramics within culture and art and find a direction for the future. The biennale this year will maximize communication. It's primary theme shall be ‘color,’ which can be clearly perceived will make this biennale more accessible to more people. By hosting many different events and hands-on activities, not to mention the exhibitions, symposiums, and workshop, the biennale seeks to improve both the professionalism and the popularity of art.

The 2015 Biennale attempts to highlight the color of ceramic art through three themes in three venues – Distinctive Color in Icheon, Variegated Color in Yeoju, Traditional Color in Gwangju – that each symbolizes the past, present, and future. Biennale 2015 will be full of exciting things to see and will be a veritable festival where people from the world over come together as one.
