Under the theme of ‘COLOR ; CERAMIC SPECTRUM,’ GICBiennale 2015 will look at the role and domain of ‘ceramic art,’ which is creating new cultural topography, afresh from diverse perspectives, by exploring the concepts of color.
These concepts are ‘Distinctive Color, Variegated Color, Traditional Color,’ and each represents the flow of time and continuity of the ‘future, present, and past.’

Contemporary ceramic art is becoming of more diverse and complex as it is increasingly mixed with fine art, public art, and media art. The Special Exhibition in Yeoju aims to present new forms of ceramics that will make our everyday lives rich and colorful. In Gwangju, Resonance of Traditional Color: Traditional East Asian Ceramic Art and The 4th Beautiful Korean Ceramics are held. Resonance of Traditional Color: Traditional East Asian Ceramic Art introduces contemporary ceramics which carries on traditional colors of Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Jointly hosted by Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, this exhibition aims to increase cultural exchange among East Asian countries through ceramic art, while aspiring to suggest a constructive future image of traditional ceramics in the three countries.
